Trivia:
. During the commercial filming scene, the clapperboard reads "Director: John Pleshette", the real name of the actor playing the director.

. When Rocky Balboa is training for the fight, he is sparring with a smaller quicker fighter. The sparring partner is played by real life Champion Roberto Durán.

. Sylvester Stallone seriously injured a pectoral muscle during his intensive training for this movie.

. The book that Rocky Balboa reads to Adrian is Edgar Rice Burroughs' "The Deputy Sheriff of Comanche County" which was originally published in 1940.

. In one version of the screenplay, there is a flashback scene that shows Rocky Balboa first meeting Mickey and we learn Rocky's real first name: Robert.

. When Apollo Creed is approaching the ring for the rematch at the end of the film, his robe starts off done-up, next shot shows it undone and the towel around his neck loose, and then in the last shot it's back to being neat again with the robe done up. Even when he enters the ring it's all neat and tidy.

. In the scene where Rocky Balboa is proposing to Adrian at the zoo, there are clumps of snow on his right shoulder. When he leans in towards Adrian to pull back her earmuff, the snow is gone. When he goes to kiss her, the snow reappears. When they walk out arm in arm, the snow disappears again.

. In the pre-fight scene, Rocky Balboa's trainer is seen pulling two cotton swabs from his mouth and then leads Rocky Balboa to the center of the ring for the referee's instructions. As the referee is talking, the camera goes back and forth between Apollo and Rocky Balboa, with Rocky Balboa's trainer standing behind him. Except now, Rocky Balboa's trainer has about four cotton swabs sticking out of his mouth. At the end of the instructions when Apollo says "You're going down.", the camera pans to Rocky Balboa and his trainer and the swabs have disappeared.

. When Rocky Balboa gets ready for the second round there are blood on his chest. In the next shot the blood is gone. Submitted by Mortug

. When Paulie has bought the car from Rocky Balboa he opens the door. When it cuts he opens the door again. Submitted by Mortug

. In the scene where Burgess Meredith comes to Stallone's home to convince Stallone to fight again, Stallone and Meredith are standing in the entry way behind the front door. When Meredith comes through the door, the door remains open. The shot cuts away to Talia Shire on the stairs and then back to Meredith and Stallone in the entry way. The door is now closed.

. When the man is trying to make Rocky Balboa sign some papers you see him holding the papers in his left hand. When it cuts he holds them in his right hand. Submitted by Mortug

. In the first round of the fight, Apollo Creed decks Rocky Balboa. When Rocky Balboa falls, he lands in the neutral (yellow) corner, but when he gets up he is standing in his own (blue) corner.

. Prior to the start of the fight when Apollo and Rocky Balboa are being announced, look real close right after Apollo is announced. The camera pans to his corner and behind Apollo, you see one of his cornermen hold up his title belt behind him. Not even a split second later when we get the camera view of the same happenings from the upper-deck area, nobody is holding up the belt.

. When Rocky Balboa and Adrian sees their baby for the first time the baby is wide awake. When it cuts to the baby he is asleep. Submitted by Mortug

. Early in the movie, in the scene where Rocky Balboa is taking Adrian home from their wedding, they are seen walking under the elevated subway train (the Market-Frankford "El"). Rocky Balboa lives in South Philadelphia (in ROCKY III he said the Spectrum in South Philly was "10 minutes from my house" so he didn't move), where the subway runs underground.

. "Rocky vs Apollo" poster above the crowd is back-to-front in one shot revealing the fact that the film was flipped for that particular shot.

. In the 15th round, Rocky Balboa is punching Apollo in the red corner. The camera turns to Mickey for a period of two or three punches; it turns back and suddenly Rocky Balboa and Apollo are in the black corner.

. The shape and size of Rockys sweat mark on his chest throughout the running scene with the kids

. At the end of ROCKY, Rocky Balboa punched Apollo in the right ribs. But when both of them meet in the hospital in ROCKY II you will noticed Apollo is holding his left ribs.

. When Mickey is watching Apollo Creed on TV, he has one sock on. When he stands up in rage, he has both socks on.

. Even though the story is supposed to take place in 1976-77, the Trans Am that is used is a 1979 model.
